Rayburn Wedding | Bridal Veil Lakes | Oregon DJ
Chris & Kayla Rayburn got married at Bridal Veil Lakes Saturday May 23, 2015. Silicon Forest Entertainment was there providing music and MC services for the ceremony and reception. If you’ve never been to Bridal Veil Lakes before, you’re missing out on what is possibly the most beautiful outdoor wedding venue we’ve seen in Oregon. The ceremony site is set across the lake from where the rest of the facilities are so it’s quiet and secluded and offers the perfect view of the lake and surrounding areas. As a DJ, we love that they’ve included power right next to the site to facilitate a couple of speakers and microphones without having to run extension cords and ruin the picturesque setting. After the ceremony, you have a lot of flexibility in how to arrange your reception, but there are essentially two large covered areas to place food and tables as well as another large paved area that’s uncovered. The uncovered area can be used as one big dance floor or additional room for tables as you’ll see in the video/pictures below. Bridal Veil lakes also provides newly remodeled amenities for bathrooms and a tent for the bridal area to stage for the ceremony. Our one tidbit of advice for future brides would be to ensure you have a backup location for the DJ prepared under one of the two covered areas in case it starts to rain. We were lucky last weekend that we only got a slight mist at one point but we were able to play through it.
We’ll continue to update with better pictures as they come in, but here are just a few that we were able to capture in between mixing songs and making announcements. I’m sure you’ll agree that Kayla was a beautiful bride and Chris might have outkicked his coverage a bit 🙂
Some notable songs for the night included:
- First Dance: “I’ll Follow You” by Shinedown
- Father Daughter Dance: “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong
- Mother/Son Dance: “Then They Do” by Trace Adkins
- Bridal Procession: “At Last” by Etta James
- Bridal Party Entrance: “You and Me” by Lifehouse
- Sand Ceremony: “Love is Your Name” by Steven Tyler
- Recessional: “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” by Stevie Wonder
Some other fun requests and spur of the moment songs for the night were:
- “Like a Wrecking Ball” by Eric Church
- “Born to Boogie” by Hank Williams Jr.
- “Call me the Breeze” by Lynyrd Skynyrd
That’s the ceremony site across the lake. You can vaguely make out the white chairs. There are walkways on either side of the lake for the family and bridal party to enter the ceremony.
As you can see, this area can be used for seating or an extended dance floor area. After dinner, we broke down the tables and chairs to make room for dancing.
That fishing pole on the tables represents Chris’s best dance move.. the ole “Reel ’em in” to the dancefloor trick 🙂 This party really liked their country and put our “Name that song” DJ skills to to the test!
We’ll add more pictures as soon as we get the approved releases from Chris and Kayla!
