Murray Wedding | Troutdale House | DJ
From the moment that Marco called me to check DJ availability and I saw his Tuscon area code, I knew we’d get along 🙂 Marco & Laura are fellow Arizona natives that recently made the move up here to Oregon to try a new lifestyle and enjoy the microbrew culture here in Portland. Marco invited us up to the Sasquatch Brewery where he works to go over the music and timeline for their wedding a few months in advance. They were one of the first couples I’ve met that had already taken the initiative to invite their guest to include a song request on their RSVP responses. We think this is an awesome idea and we’ve started recommending it to other couples that we’ve met with. I think it’s a great way to make guests feel included, especially when their “First Dance” song comes on at some point during the reception. Marco and Laura took it even a step further when they created Vinyl Record centerpieces with the names of some classic songs on them for us to use as a “Cue” to release the table and grab some authentic mexican tamales off the food truck from “Tamale Boy“. The wedding was held at the Troutdale House right off the “Gateway to the Gorge” main street minutes from the Sandy River. As a DJ, this venue was super easy to load into and get setup. They provided plenty of power outlets and even a dedicated “nook” for the DJ to be right next to the dance floor. It can comfortably accommodate about 60-80 guests. The coordinators were super laid back and mainly just let us enjoy ourselves. It’s a simple space that we were able to spruce up a bit with some blue uplighting throughout. Here’s a quick video of what I was able to capture from my iPhone at moments:
