Blackford Wedding | Willamette Mission State Park | DJ
We were lucky to be invited to DJ this beautiful outdoor vintage wedding on Saturday August 8th, 2015 at Willamette Mission State Park. From the moment I met Jill & David, I knew they were a laid back couple. Once we started talking about music, I knew they were my people! The song list they provided consisted mainly of Jack Johnson, Slightly Stoopid, Dirty Heads, Pepper, and other reggae/ska selections. If you ask me, this should be the meat of every cocktail hour and dinner 🙂
When I first walked up to the park, I was blown away by the professionalism & extent of the decor. The entire site looked like it was meant to host vintage weddings. Unfortunately, you would have to be there to see it… it was only setup that day by the amazing Shirleen Bell of Danner & Soli: Vintage & Unique Event Rentals. Jill & David also found some of the most delicious catering I’ve tried to date with Delaney Madison Grill. The owner, James Marshall, was a pleasure to work with and helped to coordinate the timing of introductions and cake cutting. I would recommend both of these vendor to any couple out there still trying to lock down a caterer or looking to add a special touch to their wedding decor. Additionally, I’m really excited to see the official photos and video created by Rachel LeCrone Photography and Aaron Anderson of Snappy Cowboys Productions based out of Seattle.
Special Songs:
- Processional: “Portugese Love Theme” from Love Actually Soundtrack
- First Dance: “Eyes” by Rogue Wave
- Cake Cutting: “Grow Old With You” by Adam Sandler
- Bouquet Toss: “Hit me with your Best Shot” by Pat Benatar
- Garter Toss: “Roadhouse Blues” by The Doors
I’ll eventually post more pictures and the official video once they’re finished by Rachel and Aaron, but in the meantime, here’s a glimpse of the “Behind the Scenes” that I managed to capture:
